Before his thrillers landed him on theNew York Times bestseller list, Kevin O'Brien was a railroad inspector who wrote novels at night. His second book, ONLY SON (1996) was optioned for film rights thanks to interest from Tom Hanks, and also featured in Reader's Digest Select Editions alongside John Grisham's THE PARTNER. His first thriller, THE NEXT TO DIE (2001) jumped up the USA Today bestseller charts. He's been writing full-time ever since. His last four thrillers --- the most recent, FINAL BREATH --- have all been New York Times bestsellers.
